Begin Relationship with Jesus

Relationship with Christ will be the most cherished decision you will make! Relationship with Him is certainly the adventure of a lifetime with deep joys and an ever present help & comfort when life gets rough. So how do you even start a relationship with Christ?

Believe who Christ is

John 6:35 ""I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst."

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Jesus is the son of God who took on human flesh to be the final and perfect sacrifice to save us from our sins. He was fully human and fully God, was crucified on the cross for our sins and rose again in three days, overcoming the grave to take the punishment that was once meant for us. He loves you deeply! To learn fully who Christ is, I suggest reading the book of John.

Believe Your Need for Him

1 Peter 2:24 "He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness."

Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

2 Corinthians 5:21 "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

We are sinners, each and everyone of us. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). We cannot make ourselves righteous and we cannot free ourselves from the bondage of sin in our own ability. No matter how hard we try it is impossible without the grace of God. Our sin eternally separated us from a loving God. Because God is perfect, just and righteous he cannot condone sin and make it permissible or right. So He blessed us with His son Jesus Christ to supernaturally free us from our eternal damnation and lead us into eternal life by His love and grace. Because of our sin we need Christ our savior to deliver us from it.

Give Jesus Your Yes

Just invite Him into your life! There are no magical phrases or words to make this happen, in your own words just let Him know that you need Him to deliver you from your sin and that you need Him to come into your heart to heal you. Repent of your sin, receive the forgiveness He already holds for you and let Him love you. He will come through for you in ways you can't even imagine, because He perfectly knows the needs of your heart!

What's Next?

1. Continue reading the Bible daily (I would recommend the New International Version Bible) and praying to God (just talk to Him, He wants to hear you!).

2. Attend church to be fed the word of God and be supported by other believers in Christ. The blessing of being in the right church community is incredible!

Accepting Christ as your personal Lord and Savior is just the beginning into a beautiful love story where you get to know His heart for you, are filled with His grace and Holy Spirit to walk out your life in true freedom, and are able to look forward to eternity with Him.
